Lime FS Welcomes Two New Buy-to-Let Lenders to Strengthen Support for Specialist Clients

As the buy-to-let market becomes increasingly complex—particularly for landlords with portfolio structures, non-standard income, or more nuanced property types

We’re excited to announce that Lime FS has partnered with two new buy-to-let lenders, expanding the range of options available to our clients who require more flexible, specialist underwriting.

As the buy-to-let market becomes increasingly complex—particularly for landlords with portfolio structures, non-standard income, or more nuanced property types—these new lender relationships ensure we can continue to deliver solutions where a traditional approach may fall short.

The buy-to-let market in the UK is increasingly sophisticated. Many landlords are no longer satisfied with “simple” single-unit lets — instead, they’re building portfolios, buying multi-unit freeholds, or investing in HMOs. According to recent research only 8% of smaller landlords (those with up to three properties) currently invest in HMOs, that’s expected to rise to 17% among those planning future acquisitions.

Similarly, investment in multi-unit blocks is also growing: 14% of these landlords currently own MUBs, but that’s projected to jump to 26% in the future.

It is a clear shift amoung property investors toward complexity.

By integrating these lenders into our panel, we’re better equipped to support:

  • Portfolio landlords
  • Clients with complex income or company structures
  • Specialist property types such as HMOs, MUFBs, and semi-commercial units
  • Those needing bespoke, case-by-case assessments

This development reinforces our commitment to helping clients secure the most suitable finance, regardless of how complex the scenario may be.

A Word from David Farmer, Director at Lime FS

“These new lender partnerships are fantastic news for our clients. The buy-to-let landscape is evolving quickly, and having access to more flexible, specialist-minded lenders allows us to continue delivering tailored solutions for even the most complex cases. It’s another step forward in making sure our clients always have the strongest possible support behind them.”
